Thai Glass Industries Public Co., Ltd

Thai Glass Industries Public Co., Ltd was established in 1951 on the bank of the Chao Phraya river.  Initially, soft drinks, beer and whisky constituted the bulk of the business operations.  These were gradually expanded to cover the emerging needs in other segments.

In 1991, a second plant was built in Bangplee, Samut Prakan, in response to the rapid market expansion.  With a total capacity of over 2,400 tons a day for both plants, including the addition of the latest furnace in 2008 which is one of the largest furnace in S.E. Asia, Thai Glass Industries is the sole major supplier of glass containers in Thailand.

TGI’s products are sold through its parent company, Berli Jucker Public Company Limited (Packaging Product Division). The company obtains full technical support from Owens-Brockway Illinois (OI), who is the leader in glass manufacturing in the United States of America.

TGI contributes and participates in the community, as well as supporting social values and employing good work practices.  In order to help preserve natural resources, TGI recycles the broken glass and scraps known as "cullet" into a major part of the material used for its production.  By virtue of this approach, TGI helps reduce consumption of natural resources by more than 300,000 tons a year, hence lessening the burden on the environment.
