Celebrating 30 years as a listed company (19/11/2009)
On 30 April 2009, the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), held the “Celebrating 30 Years as a Listed Company” Ceremony at SET Office. Our Khun Aswin Techajareonvikul, President, and Khun Thirasakdi Nathikanchanalab, Vice Chairman and Executive Board, were honorably invited to join the Ceremony and accept the trophy given by the first President of SET, Mr. Sukree Kaocharern.
The SET started operating and trading stocks on 30 April B.E.2518 under the provisions of the Stock Exchange of Thailand Act B.E.2517 with main objectives for enhancing domestic savings and fund gathering as well as enhancing people invest and take ownership in local businesses. The SET’s former name was “the Securities Exchange of Thailand” and subsequently changed to be “the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)” on 1st of January 1991.
There were only 11 companies listed and trade their stocks in the SET at the first day it officially operated and only 5 companies have been survived from various crisis and grow together with the SET throughout 34 years long. Berli Jucker Public Co. Ltd. is one of those.
